POLICIES & PROCEDURES

The Library Media Center hours of operation are 7:20-3:00, Monday-Friday.  The LMC operates on a partial flexible schedule.  Most classes visit the library for a 40 minute period of literacy-based lessons and book checkout.  All students have access to book checkout each week.  Literacy instruction is based on the South Carolina College and Career Readiness ELA Standards and the American Association of School Librarians’ Standards for the 21st Century Learner.

Circulation Policy

Students are able to checkout the following number of materials based on grade level:

K5-1st grade:  1 book per week

2nd-5th grade:  2 books per week

Students are expected to return books each week with the possibility of renewal.  Students with overdue books will not be charged fines; however, they will not be allowed to check out more books until the late book is returned.  Damaged books must be returned to the library to be assessed for repairs or charges.  Payment for lost/damaged books must be remitted before the student will be allowed to continue to check out more books.  If payment cannot be made in a timely manner, the student will be allowed to checkout paperback books until payment is complete.
