Principal's Message

Hello McKissick Family!!
Welcome back to the 2016-2017 school year! A new school year is always an exciting time. It is a time for new beginnings…new school materials, new school clothes, new faces, new friends, and new experiences. Lon Watters once said, “School is a building that has four walls with tomorrow inside.” At McKissick Elementary we not only hold tomorrow inside our building, we also hold the future. In our building could be future doctors, lawyers, teachers, bankers, chefs, accountants, authors, mechanics, electricians, cosmetologists…the list goes on and on. This year we will continue to enjoy our school wide Disney theme. Walt Disney once said, “To succeed, we must first believe that we can.”  At McKissick, we believe that your child can succeed and we want to help them in any way possible to not only dream but achieve those dreams.  We truly believe that one’s attitude determines one’s altitude.
As I enter my eleventh year at McKissick Elementary, I more excited than ever at what we have planned for your child. We are humbled and honored that you have chosen us to be a part of your child’s academic journey. It is a responsibility we take seriously and we want you to be a part of our team. It takes the school and home working together to help make your child a success. Just as Walt Disney once said, “I only hope we never lose sight of one thing, that it was all started by a mouse.” I want to assure you we will never lose sight of one thing, you have entrusted us with your child’s education. If I can ever be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to let me know. You are always welcome at McKissick.
Sincerely,
Gary R. Mohr, Jr.
